Meet Chiropractor Dr. Jack Adrian

Chiropractor Dr. Jack Adrian is the owner and director at ChiroCenter in Troy Ohio, and has been involved in the chiropractic profession for nearly 30 years.

He is an Ohio native and was raised in Madison County, just outside of London, Ohio, and graduated from Madison-Plains High School, a rural country school on State Route 38 between London and Washington Court House.

Before becoming a Chiropractor, he obtained an Associate’s degree in Applied Life Sciences and a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Biology. He took his undergraduate training at Morehead State University and then headed out to Chesterfield, Missouri, a far western suburb of St. Louis where he obtained his Doctor of Chiropractic Degree in 1981 fulfilling his dream of becoming a Chiropractor.

In the beginning, Dr. Adrian’s original intentions were to go into Medicine, but he had a very unique experience with his mother who was in constant pain from a variety of challenges and when all forms of medical treatment failed to provide her with any help, he took her to a local chiropractor in London where she began noticing immediate results.

Experiencing this, he quickly decided to move away from his original intentions of going into medicine and become a chiropractor make chiropractic his life’s work. Today, some 30 years after making the decision to enter into chiropractic, he has had the privilege of helping many thousands of people as a Chiropractor.

A Chiropractor Who Is Involved

Dr. Adrian is a Diplomat of the National Board of Chiropractic Examiners, a member of the Ohio State Chiropractic Association, a former board member of the Ohio Academy of Chiropractic Physicians and is proficient in several different chiropractic techniques. He is also a member of the International Pain Control Society, has had the privilege of studying acupuncture in Beijing, China, and is also one of very few chiropractors in the State of Ohio with certification in Manipulation Under Anesthesia, a specialized form of care usually reserved for the most difficult cases.

In the late 90’s, Dr. Adrian was involved with a private organization of Chiropractors known as Trinity International. The group made several trips to the Philippines’ as they set up and oversaw an orphanage in Cebu City that cared for over 300 young Pilipino children. Some of his fondest memories in his career are those when he was periodically helping to run a free chiropractic facility about 100 miles outside of Cebu City. There, multitudes of local mountain people would converge from six footpaths to their facility, many of whom had never seen a doctor before, to bring their children, elders and themselves to receive chiropractic care.

Though most had nothing except the clothes on their back, the meals they would prepare entirely from mountain resources; their tears, hugs and other forms of gratitude represent some of the most wonderful memories of his near 30 years in chiropractic. To add even more quality to those memories, his father, who served at Guadalcanal and in the Philippines’ during WWII, would very often accompany him. There, he learned from and grew in deeper respect for his dad, after all he had endured in the South Pacific more than 50 years earlier.

Dr. Adrian began his career in Kenton, Ohio, where he established his first office in 1981. A few years after, he moved to Columbus where he spent most of his career, primarily so his children could grow up closer to their grandparents. As his children grew and developed lives of their own, Dr. Adrian decided he would also like to get back closer to his roots of a rural community.

In 2002, Dr. Adrian moved to Troy, where he set up his first office on Archer Drive, but later moved to the Freeman Groves Insurance Complex where he has practiced since that time. He serves many local Miami County residents, as well as patients as far north as Lima, Minster, Ft. Loramie and Sydney, as far south as Centerville and Miamisburg, to the west over to the Indiana line and as far east as Springfield, Urbana and South Vienna because of some of the more difficult to find treatments that his office offers.

Dr Adrian has three grown children and four grandchildren. He’s a Buckeye fan through and through, has never given up on the Reds and Bengals and in his younger years took part in a lot of far out activities such as jumping out of perfectly running airplanes, hang gliding and diving with hammerhead sharks. Now in the second half of his life, he prefers to keep his feet on the ground with safer activities like spectator sports, jogging, biking, fishing, hiking and watching his grandchildren grow.
